Privacy Policy
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Audience Precision Pty Ltd (“Audience Precision”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal information when you visit audienceprecision.com (the “Website”), contact us, or engage us for our services.
Audience Precision is an audience intelligence business. We help brands and agencies understand their addressable audiences. We are not a software-as-a-service provider and we are not a data broker. We do not sell personal information, and our services are built primarily on aggregated, statistically representative, de-identified research data rather than on the personal information of identifiable individuals.
We respect your privacy and are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and, where they apply to our activities, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA). Because we operate across more than 50 markets, additional local privacy laws may also apply.

3. The personal information we collect
3.1 Information you give us
- Identity and contact details — such as your name, email address, phone number, employer and job title — when you complete a form, request information, or correspond with us.
- Engagement information — details you provide when discussing or entering into a client engagement, including project briefs and billing contact details.
- Any other information you choose to include in messages, calls or meetings with us.
3.2 Information we collect automatically
Technical and usage data — such as your IP address, approximate location, browser type, device information, referring pages and how you interact with the Website. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
See our Cookie Policy for details of the cookies we use and how to manage them.
3.3 Information from third parties
We may receive limited business contact information from partners, referrers or publicly available professional sources (for example, a colleague who introduces you). We do not build consumer profiles of Website visitors.
4. How and why we use personal information
We use personal information for the following purposes. Where the GDPR applies, the corresponding lawful basis is shown in brackets.
- To respond to your enquiries and provide information you request (legitimate interests; steps prior to a contract).
- To provide, manage and improve our services and the Website (legitimate interests; performance of a contract).
- To manage client engagements, including correspondence, project delivery, invoicing and record-keeping (performance of a contract; legal obligation).
- To send relevant business communications where permitted, from which you can opt out at any time (legitimate interests; consent where required).
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Website and our systems (legitimate interests; legal obligation).
- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (legal obligation).
We will only use personal information for the purpose we collected it for, or a reasonably related purpose you would expect, unless we are otherwise permitted or required by law.
5. Our services and personal information
Our audience intelligence work is based on aggregated, de-identified survey and panel data licensed from established research providers. This data describes audiences at a statistical, population level. It does not identify, and is not used by us to identify, individual people, and we do not use it to target or contact individuals.
Where a client provides us with information to support an engagement, we handle it under our engagement terms and applicable law, use it only for that engagement, and do not use it to enrich or build profiles of individuals.
6. When we disclose personal information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed and with appropriate safeguards, including with:
- Service providers who support our operations — for example, website hosting, web forms, email, analytics, cloud storage and professional advisers — who are permitted to use it only on our instructions.
- Research data providers, in connection with licensing audience data (this does not involve disclosing Website visitors’ personal information).
- Authorities or other parties where required or authorised by law, or to protect our rights, safety or property.
- A successor entity in connection with a business sale or reorganisation, subject to confidentiality.
7. International data transfers
We operate across more than 50 markets and use service providers located in Australia, the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom and elsewhere. As a result, personal information may be stored or processed outside the country where you are located, including in countries with different data protection laws.
Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected, including by using providers bound by appropriate contractual protections such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement where applicable, consistent with APP 8 and Chapter V of the GDPR.
8. Cookies and analytics
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies, including analytics, to help it function and to understand how it is used. You can control non-essential cookies through our cookie banner and your browser settings. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.
9. How long we keep personal information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting, tax or reporting requirements, and then securely delete or de-identify it. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason we hold it.
10. How we protect personal information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, and to destroy or de-identify it when it is no longer needed. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect information appropriately.
11. Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you using solely automated processing.
12. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
- delete your personal information;
- restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where we rely on it;
- receive a copy of certain information in a portable format; and
- opt out of marketing communications at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@audienceprecision.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Additional information for EU / UK individuals
Where the GDPR applies, our lawful bases are described in section 4. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, although we ask that you contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter.
Additional information for California residents
Where the CCPA/CPRA applies, you have rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under that law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
13. Children’s privacy
The Website and our services are intended for businesses and professionals. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
14. Third-party links
The Website may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on the Website, and we will update the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be notified where required by law.
16. How to contact us or make a complaint
